Mr. Wigdor represented individual women in an alleged gender discrimination class action complaint against Dresdner Kleinwort, the investment banking arm of Dresdner Bank, one of the largest banking corporations in Germany at the time. In the Complaint, six female employees alleged that Dresdner Kleinwort subjected them and other women in its New York office to a hostile and abusive work environment in the form of unequal pay, unequal opportunities for advancement, and lewd remarks from male colleagues, who often boasted of visits to strip clubs and brought prostitutes to the office. The lawsuit was described by The Guardian as “the biggest of its kind” and “the latest in a growing number of legal challenges exposing the dark side of the clubby world of the City and Wall Street.
