Mr. Wigdor represented the hotel maid who was sexually assaulted in the Sofitel Hotel by French politican Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the former head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). In a civil lawsuit filed in Bronx County Supreme Court, Ms. Diallo alleged that Mr. Strauss-Kahn attempted to rape her when she arrived to clean his hotel suite. The lawsuit resulted in a flurry of international publicity that led to Mr. Strauss-Kahn resgining from his post at the IMG. The allegations also derailed Mr. Strauss Kahn’s rumored candidacy for the French presidency. On December 11, 2012, The New York Times reported that a settlement agreement was reached in the case for an undisclosed amount.
